Pre-College Initiative

The target audience for the third deliverable of this project is high school and community college faculty who are introducing their students to career pathways. Partner institutions will share best practices and recommendations for methods and content. For example, Columbus State has previously piloted a three-day educator’s institute for logistics engineering technology (LET) and has piloted novel formats for educator engagement such as career briefing sessions and bus tours.

A professional development initiative will create materials and resources for these instructors to become more familiar with the industry and careers, ultimately passing this knowledge on to their students. Instructors will also be introduced to the LET education program and coursework. Oakton Community College will lead this deliverable.

Oakton will create instructional materials for high school faculty. Columbus State and Sinclair will provide recommendations and any already developed resources and content.
