The field of Finance has a wide range of career opportunities. Some of the job areas include Investment Careers, Corporate Finance, Banking, International Finance, Insurance and Financial Planning. Columbus State Community College offers a six-quarter Associate Degree program in Finance.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, average job growth during the 2016-26 decade in the US will average about 7.4% but:

  • There are nearly 500,000 jobs to be added in the overall "Financial Activities" area between 2016-26
  • Employment of financial managers is expected to increase by 18 percent and add 100,000 jobs in the U.S.
  • Jobs in securities, commodities, and financial services sales agents are expected to grow 17%.
  • There nearly 90,000 jobs to be added in the "Financial and Insurance" area between 2016-26.

Financial analysts are projected to see growth of 10% and 298,000 jobs

Columbus State Finance graduates have an advantage in the job market when competing for entry-level jobs in Finance.
