How to Register
Basic ESL classes will be in-person and online for Summer 2022. A placement test is required for Basic ESL levels 1-8 and some electives. Registration for Summer opens on April 18th.

Step 1: Choose a Class
We offer Basic ESL levels 1-8 in-person. A placement test is required to determine your class level. Current schedules are below and will be updated each term.
We offer online elective classes to help you improve your English. You can choose an elective class based on what skills you would like to improve.
Step 2: Schedule placement test or register for online class
Register for class or placement test online through CougarWeb for Continuing Education. Once you recieve your placement test results, you can register for classes.

Step 3: Get your Cougar ID Card
Cougar ID card services are available by appointment only for the Columbus campus. Before scheduling an appointment and receiving an ID card, the criteria listed below must first be met. Click here to make an appointment.
ID cards are charged a fee of $4.00. This fee must be paid beforehand. Once payment is made, a receipt is emailed to the student, and then an ID appointment may be scheduled.
Pick a day and time, then fill in your information and you Cougar ID number next press submit.

Step 4: Purchase Textbooks
For some of our classes, you will get materials for free from your instructor. For most classes, you must buy a textbook. You can buy it online through the Columbus State Community College Bookstore.
Step 5: Set Up and Check Your Email
The week before your online class starts, your teacher will e-mail you information about your class, including how to join the class in Zoom.
If you have not set up your CSCC e-mail yet, follow our Instructions for Username and Password Setup to access your account.
Then check your Columbus State Student E-mail for a message from your teacher.
