Transitioning from College Credit Plus
Congratulations on completing College Credit Plus classes through Columbus State. That smart move gives you a great head start of college! We’re delighted that you have chosen to continue at Columbus State as a traditional college student.
Your first step is to complete the Standard Application for Admission. Students sometimes ask, “If I applied for College Credit Plus at Columbus State, why do I need to apply again?” Applying as a traditional college student allows us to get more in-depth information, assure that your information is up to date. A completed standard application is required to change your status to ‘traditional student.”
Completing the standard application is free. It’s online. There’s no essay. And it only takes a few minutes!
Follow the steps below to apply as a traditional Columbus State student and complete all of the admissions steps to start classes.
Complete the Standard Application for Admission to Columbus State. Complete the FAFSA at fafsa.gov (Columbus State school code: 006867).
Your Columbus State College Credit Plus credits are already here, so no need to do anything there!
If you completed College Credit Plus or AP classes through another college or university (other than Columbus State), request an official transcript from the college(s) where you have earned credit. Most colleges have an online transcript request process that you can find easily by visiting their site and searching for “transcripts.”
IMPORTANT: We must receive your official transcript directly from the college. Students are not permitted to submit transcripts.
As a College Credit Plus student, you have already completed placement testing for Reading and Writing. If you did not complete the Math Placement Test, your next step is to take it or submit qualifying ACT/SAT scores.
