Amazon Web Services training at Columbus State
Columbus State and AWS Academy are excited to bring Amazon Web Services (AWS) training to Central Ohio. Columbus State is working with AWS Academy to offer professional development programs designed to build cloud skills and credentials. These classes provide an opportunity for IT workers and other professionals to expand their knowledge of cloud computing and stay competitive in their field.
Columbus State’s Office of Workforce Innovation is now offering non-credit AWS Academy classes. The classes focus on the baseline knowledge needed to take the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification and AWS Solution Architect Certification, and will be taught on Columbus State’s campus by AWS Academy-accredited instructors. AWS Academy developed the course curriculum, which is maintained by subject matter experts to reflect current services and best practices. Details for each class are below.
AWS Architecture Course Series
AWS Academy Cloud Foundations
Get an introduction to the components of Amazon Web Services (AWS). This course provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. Upon completion of the Cloud Foundations course, participants should have the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam.
This is an entry-level course, but participants should have the following:
- General IT technical knowledge
- General IT business knowledge
When: July 17, 2019 | Registration will open May 28
The class will meet one night per week for six weeks. Each weekly class will meet for two and half hours. An additional three to five hours per week is expected outside of class to complete homework, readings, labs, etc.
AWS Academy Cloud Architecture
The AWS Academy Cloud Architect course is designed for individuals who have successfully completed the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course OR have already obtained any AWS Certification. The course is focused on developing participants’ technical expertise in cloud computing services and the application of those services. This course assumes that participants already have an IT background and does not provide instruction on introductory-level IT concepts. Upon completion of the Cloud Architecture course, participants should have the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the AWS Solutions Architect exam.
Eligible students must complete the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course or hold and equivalent certification to take this class.
