Work Requirements

Students entering the Aviation Maintenance Technology must apply to Columbus State Community College and complete the Placement Test. Prospective students must place into ENGL 1100 and MATH 1020. Apply to Columbus State.

FAA requirements for eligibility for Mechanic Certificate are as follows:

• 18 years old
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language
• Pass the following required tests:
• General – written, oral, and practical
• Airframe – written, oral, and practical
• Powerplant – written, oral, and practical.
