Work Requirements

Students entering the Aviation Maintenance Technology must apply to Columbus State Community College and complete the Placement Test. Prospective students must place into ENGL 1100 and MATH 1050/1099. Apply to Columbus State.

FAA requirements for eligibility for Mechanic Certificate are as follows:

• 18 years old
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language
• Pass the following required tests:
• General – written, oral, and practical
• Airframe – written, oral, and practical
• Powerplant – written, oral, and practical.
