
Get Credit for Prior Learning
Columbus State’s Computer Science department offers college credit to students who have industry-recognized IT credentials.
Students who already have one or more of the following credentials can opt out of certain classes. This allows you to advance toward your degree more quickly, saving time and money.

- There are two versions of CompTIA certificates – one suitable for framing which does not have a verification code and another version which does have a verification code. Obtain a CompTIA certificate which has a verification code and website on the lower left of the document.
- Bring a copy of your certificate to Student Central in Madison Hall or the Delaware Campus Student Services office.
- Email your certificate to transcriptevaluation@cscc.edu. Include your Cougar ID number in the email.
We will validate your certificate with CompTIA and add your credit to your transcript. Your credential must be up-to-date to receive credit.
