Adoptable Animals
Shelter dogs and cats help us train our students, but after that, they're ready for new homes.
The dogs and cats in the Veterinary Technology program come primarily from dog shelters,
rescue or humane organizations. They come to us when they have not been able to find
a suitable home through that system. They spend approximately two years with us before
they are up for adoption.
During their time with us, they help our students to perfect their abilities to take x-rays, perform physical exams, draw blood, prepare a patient for surgery (although no surgeries are performed on the animals) and learn how to restrain and medicate animals. The dogs are also trained with basic obedience skills, groomed and played with by the students. The cats are groomed, held and played with by the students.

Dogs

KIBBLE: 4 year old, spayed female, pit mix. She is active, loves to play outside and hang out with her people for belly rubs. She does not do well with cats, and she should do well with other dogs. She is house trained. She weighs 40 pounds. She is fully vaccinated, neutered and heartworm tested.
QUINCY: 2 year old black and white, Pit mix breed, neutered male dog weighing 46 lbs. He is a sweet, cuddly boy. He is sometimes nervous about meeting men. He gets along other dogs but did not do well in home with cats. He loves playing with his rubber bone and have his belly rubbed.
MONTANA: 1 year old black, mix breed, neutered male dog weighing 44 lbs. He is boisterous in his kennel, but he is a gentleman on his walks. He is friendly and loves to play. He should get along with cats and other dogs.
BART: 5 year old, neutered male mix breed. He is a sweet boy who is housetrained. He gets along with cats and should get along with dogs. He is very affectionate. He weighs 50 pounds.
TOOTSIE: 4 year old, red merle, pit mix neutered female dog. She weighs 39 lbs. She might get along with cats and other dogs. She has a bossy, bold side but is well mannered on her walks and friendly with people.
DINO: 2 year old, tan and white, neutered male, mix breed dog. He is an active boy that likes to play. He may get along with cats and other dogs. He weighs 40 lbs.
Cats

SEBASTIAN: 3 year old neutered male tiger and white cat. Sweet, playful and gets along with other cats. He should adjust to living with dogs.
YOYO: 3 year old neutered tiger male cat. He is cute, playful and gets along with other cats. He is nervous around dogs. He likes to wrestle with other cats!
MISTY: 3 year old spayed gray and white female cat. She is s cute cat that likes to be left to herself. She can be with other animals but likes her alone time.
DIANA: 2 year old spayed tiger/torti female cat. Affectionate and gets along with other cats. She should do well with dogs.
LUNA: 3 year old spayed female dilute calico cat. She is a sweet cat that gets along with other cats. She should adjust to being with dogs.
MINERVA: 4 year old spayed female tortoiseshell cat. She is a pretty cat that gets along with other cats and should adjust to living with dogs. Minerva has a potential adopter this spring.
