Admissions
Degree Programs
No special application is needed to enroll in the Facilities Maintenance Associate
Degree program or our Skilled Trades certificate programs.
Simply follow the normal college application process as described in the Get Started Guide. Columbus State does not charge an application fee, although there is a $50 matriculation
fee when you register for the first time. Columbus State is an open enrollment college.
Once you have completed the application, you will need to take the College Placement
Exam, which will enable us to determine a starting point suited specifically for you.
ACT scores no more than two years old can be used in place of the College Placement
Exam.
Please schedule a meeting with one of our Academic Advisors within the Skilled Trades program to help you with your plan of study.
Apprenticeships
Individuals seeking admission into a Registered Apprenticeship Program MUST do so directly with the Apprenticeship sponsor organization. There are several area
Apprenticeships working in partnership with Columbus State Community College as well
as others in the Columbus metro region. Through these partnerships apprentices will
earn college credit toward an Associate of Applied Science degree in a specific discipline
as they complete their apprenticeship program.
NOTE: Admission to these programs is NOT through Columbus State Community College. You must apply directly with an Apprenticeship
partner. For more information contact the Apprenticeship Coordinator, Lynn Giese at (614) 287-2474. A list of our apprenticeship partners is available at www.cscc.edu/APPL .
