TRIO Programs
TRIO programs are federally funded to serve individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Department of Education oversees eight TRIO programs that serve participants who
are income eligible, first in their family to go to college or those with disabilities
progress through the education system. Columbus State Community College has three
of the eight programs (Student Support Services, Upward Bound, and Educational Talent
Search).
The TRIO programs mission is to assist participants in their educational journey and
give them the tools they need to be successful.
