TRIO Programs
TRIO programs are federally funded to serve individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Department of Education oversees eight TRIO programs that serve participants who
are income eligible, first in their family to go to college or those with disabilities
progress through the education system. Columbus State Community College has four TRIO
programs (Student Support Services, Student Support Services STEM, Upward Bound, and
Educational Talent Search).
The TRIO programs mission is to assist our participants in their educational journey
and give them the tools they need to be successful.
Student Support Services
The Student Support Services programs support first generation, income eligible students
as well as students with documented disabilities at CSCC. The programs provide academic
coaching, tutoring, workshops as well as general support and guidance. Our team can
help students complete campus processes, get connected to campus resources and help
students transition to a four-year college or university. Learn More.
Upward Bound
Upward Bound is a federally funded pre-college program for high school students, that
provides them with skills they need to succeed in college. Learn More.
Educational Talent Search
Educational Talent Search at Columbus State is a pre-college program serving students
who are enrolled in (or who have dropped out) of grades 6-12 and who live in select
areas within the Columbus Public School District. Learn More.
