New Students & Orientation
As a new Columbus State student, we want to make sure you have everything you need for a successful transition into college. Once you've applied, New Student Programs can help you get ready for your first semester.
Next Steps for New Students
If you've already applied for admission and completed placement, your next step is to attend a New Student Program by completing either New Student Orientation or the two-step New Student Workshop. During these events, you'll register for your first classes, discuss financial aid options, learn about campus resources, and get ready to succeed in college.
Please email columbuspromise@cscc.edu and a Columbus Promise Advisor will help with next steps.
You should complete our New Student Orientation!
The New Student Orientation is an event built for recent high school graduates and their support network to learn all about Columbus State, the resources we have available to you, and get registered for your first semester of classes.
You should complete the two-part New Student Workshop!
The two-part New Student Workshop is specifically built for students who have graduated high school more than two years ago (2020 or prior) and have completed little to no college credits.
You should visit Virtual Drop Ins!
Please officially submit your transcript to be evaluated. Click here for more information on how to submit your transcript. Once you submit your official transcript, please have an unofficial transcript with you when you visit Virtual Drop Ins listed below.
A College Transition Specialist will look over your unofficial transcript for placement (English, Reading, and Math) and pre-requisite courses for intended program of study. This may result in referral to department for course recommendations depending upon credits completed.
