Surgical Technologist are employed by Hospitals, Surgery Centers, and in Surgeons offices, as Private Surgical Tech's.
The field of surgical technology is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations, jobs will increase by 15% from now to 2024.
Prerequisite courses for any general course listed on the plan of study is recommended.
Completing all general and basic courses listed in the first four semesters is recommended.
Our program only provides the courses that are required by our accrediting body the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and no other courses.
STAT 1350 Elementary Statistics or MATH 1104 Mathematical Concepts for Business is recommended.
We recommended completing as many general and basic courses from the first four semesters prior to entering the program.
Yes, admissions is selective for the Surgical Technology Program. You must attend a mandatory information session, 2.5 GPA, the ability to meet all mental and physical requirements of the job as listed in the Essentials for the program.
Yes, there is a clinical component to the program it requires you to perform a minimum of 120 surgical procedures prior to earning your degree.
It will take 5 semesters to complete the program, the semesters are sequential and include summer semester. We do not offer a part-time option at this time.
