If you’ve taken classes at Columbus State in the past, you will not receive an acceptance email since you’ve already been accepted. You should be able to sign in to Workday directly.
If you are a new student or a former CCP student, you may have accidentally submitted multiple applications or the wrong application. The college regularly reviews applications flagged for duplicate management or ID verification. You should receive an email indicating whether the application is under review. To complete onboarding and placement in Workday:
- Open your Inbox (or Awaiting Action) on the Workday home page.
- Complete each placement test or onboarding task in order, following the instructions and links.
- Allow time for test results to be processed before you register.
- If you believe you already met placement requirements, check the task for a way to submit prior scores/transcripts, or contact Admissions (or the College Credit Plus office for CCP students).
If you get stuck, visit Student Central (Columbus campus) or Student Services (Delaware and Dublin). For help by phone, call the Telephone Information Center.
A hold blocks you from registering until you take action:
- In Workday, open Profile → Holds / Tasks & Holds and click on the hold.
- Read the reason and follow the instructions (for example: submit documents, meet with an advisor, pay a balance).
- Contact the office that placed the hold (Financial Aid, Bursar/Student Accounts, Advising, Admissions/Records, etc.) if you have questions.
If you think a hold is resolved but still see it in Workday, or if the wording is unclear, visit Student Central (Columbus campus) or Student Services at Delaware and Dublin. For help by phone, call the Telephone Information Center. Don't wait to get help, especially if your registration appointment has already started.
CCP students: Some holds may relate to CCP paperwork or consent. Start with the College Credit Plus office or the Telephone Information Center.
Your registration appointment indicates when registration opens for you. There's no need to show up anywhere at a specific time. Once your registration appointment has passed, you can still register, as course registration remains open until the day before the course(s) begin.
- In Workday, go to Academics or Registration and look for Registration Appointment.
- All students will have a registration appointment assigned by April 23, 2026. (Registration is open to all students after the third day of registration.)
- You can’t register until your appointment begins, even if you can see classes.
If you don’t see an appointment after April 23, contact Student Central (Columbus campus) or Student Services (Delaware and Dublin). For help by phone, call the Telephone Information Center.
CCP students: Confirm your registration responsibilities and time with the College Credit Plus office and your high school counselor.
Registration Appointments are the earliest date and time you can begin registering for the upcoming semester. Appointments are prioritized based on credential-seeking programs of study and the total number of completed credit hours. This process helps ensure that students who are closer to graduation can register for the courses they need. Once your appointment date and time arrive, we encourage you to register as soon as possible to get the best selection of courses that meet your needs.
Many current students won’t see a term-by-term academic plan in Workday yet. Instead:
- Run your Degree Audit in Colleague (available through Summer 2026) to see what you’ve completed and what’s still outstanding.
- Follow the program of study for your chosen degree or certificate. Search programs.
- Follow any advising plans or checklists you already have.
- If you’re unsure what to take next, schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor (Student Central or the Telephone Information Center can help you connect).
Starting this October, you’ll be able to run Academic Progress Reports in Workday to plan for the Spring 2027 semester and beyond.
CCP students: Follow guidance from your high school counselor and Columbus State CCP advisor, and confirm courses are approved for College Credit Plus funding.
Until Academic Progress Reports are available in Workday (Autumn 2026):
- Use your Degree Audit in Colleague (through Summer 2026) to check which requirements are completed or remaining.
- Review your plan of study and any prior advising notes.
- If you’re close to graduation or unsure about your status, schedule a graduation check with your Academic Advisor.
If you need help interpreting your Degree Audit, please see your Academic Advisor.
Here are a few things to check:
- Has registration opened for you? Check your Registration Appointment time; it is the earliest you can register. Here’s
how:
- Log in to Workday and select Academics Hub. In your Academic Overview, you will see the Registration Appointment time in one of the boxes to the far right with a graduation cap image.
- Have you met the prerequisites for the classes you selected? Some courses list prerequisites that must be completed before you can take the selected class.
- Do you have “Holds” preventing registration? Check your Workday Academics and Financials Hubs for any holds and instructions on resolving them.
- Did you get an error message? Type “troubleshoot registration” in the search bar. Click on the “troubleshoot” button to read the registration error details.
To drop or swap a class in Workday:
- Check the drop/swap deadline for your semester and part of term on the Columbus State academic calendar.
- Go to your Current Schedule in Workday, select the class, and choose Drop or Swap (if available).
- If the option is missing or disabled, it may be past the deadline – check the academic calendar.
- The course may require special registration approval; review the course description.
If you believe you’re within the deadline but can’t drop/swap, contact Student Central on the Columbus campus or Student Services at Delaware and Dublin. For help by phone, call the Telephone Information Center.
CCP students: Always talk with your high school counselor and Columbus State CCP advisor before dropping a class—this can affect high school graduation and CCP funding.
Financial Aid processing and tuition billing for Autumn Semester will open in Workday later this spring and summer. If you don't see it right away, don't worry.
When the time comes, to view your finances:
- Open the Finances / Student Financials area in Workday.
- Use Account Activity, Statement, or similar options to see charges and payments.
- Use Financial Aid / Awards to see your aid.
If something looks wrong:
- Contact Financial Aid with questions about grants, scholarships, and loans.
- Contact the Cashier’s Office/Student Accounts about charges and payments.
If you’re not sure which office to call, start with Student Central or the Telephone Information Center.
CCP students: Confirm which charges should be covered by College Credit Plus. If you see unexpected charges, contact the College Credit Plus office and/or the Cashier’s Office/Student Accounts.
You can update most contact information directly in Workday:
- Click your name/photo → Profile → Personal Information / Contact Information.
- Under Addresses, use Edit or Add to update your address.
- Under Email and Phone, update your contact details and Save.
If you can’t edit a field (for example, official Columbus State email or legal name), that information may be locked. Contact Student Central on the Columbus campus or Student Services at Delaware and Dublin. For help by phone, call the Telephone Information Center.
CCP students: Keep both your Columbus State and high school contact information up to date and notify your high school counselor of important changes.
Workday uses two related concepts:
- Friends and Family – where you add individuals (like a parent, guardian, or spouse) to your account as a potential designee
- Third Party access – where you grant a Friend or Family member specific permissions to view certain information (such as billing or financial aid).
To set this up:
- In Workday, go to the area for Friends and Family and add the person you want (provide
their name, relationship, and contact info).
Then go to Third Party Authorization and:- Select the Friend or Family designee you added.
- Choose what they can see or do (for example: view bill, view financial aid, view grades), as allowed.
- Confirm and submit your changes.
Review this article for detailed instructions: Workday: Friends and Family
CCP students: Check College Credit Plus rules about who may access your information.
If a parent/guardian needs access, ask the College Credit Plus office or Telephone Information Center how to set it up in a way that follows CCP and FERPA rules.
If your Third Party contact can’t see anything:
- Make sure you’ve added them under Friends and Family and given them permissions through Third Party Authorization.
- Confirm they’re logging in or accessing the way CSCC instructed. To learn more, review this article for detailed instructions: Workday: How to use your Third Party access
- If problems continue, contact Student Central or the Telephone Information Center; they may involve the IT Support Center for technical issues.
To change or remove someone’s access:
- Update or remove them in Third Party Authorization, and, if needed, in Friends and Family, then Save.
Competitive or selective programs.
Programs with additional requirements may display as an “interest” until you have been accepted into the program. For example, you can’t enter the Nursing program right away—you must apply after completing required courses. In that case, you should enroll in the Health Sciences Associate of Applied Science program with an interest in nursing. Starting in Health Sciences lets you finish those classes first. If you’re accepted into Nursing, your major will change from Health Sciences to Nursing.
Multiple applications active.
If you have applied to the college multiple times, you may have several active programs. You should contact your advisor or a student services representative to discontinue any old programs, if applicable.
Talk to a new student coach or contact your academic advisor.
- Type “view my support network” into the search bar. You can also go to the Important Contacts tab in the Academics Hub.
- Click “request appointment” and select your assigned advisor only (selecting any other advisor from the drop-down list will delay the process significantly).
- Transient and non-degree students should go to a drop-in session. If you’re not able to schedule an appointment in the time you need, please email your advisor or go to a drop-in session.
For immediate support, you can connect with student services representatives by calling The Telephone Information Center (TIC) at (614) 287-5353 or by visiting Student Central or Student Services at Delaware and Dublin to discontinue any old programs, if applicable.
