Get Ready for Workday

Workday: Your new student information system.

Columbus State is in the process of upgrading from our current student information system (Self-Service / CougarWeb system) to a new system: Workday. In Workday, students will register for courses, manage financial aid, update contact information, and so much more — all in a one-stop shop.

Why are we making the change?

Workday streamlines your life as a Columbus State student. In Workday, you’ll be able to: 

  • Register for classes in a few clicks.
  • Stay organized with one convenient dashboard.
  • Manage financial aid, set up payment plans, and make payments. 
  • Tell us how to get your name right with chosen name and pronunciation.
  •  Use the mobile app to view courses and more on the go.
  • Set up appointments, get reminders, and so much more. 

When will you use Workday?

Different functions will move to Workday as we progress through the upgrade. You may need to use two systems for a short period during the transition (April-August). In general: 

  • Activities related to the Spring and Summer 2026 semesters will happen in the old system (CougarWeb). 
  • Activities related to Autumn 2026 and beyond will happen in the new system (Workday).

Next Steps

Right now, students don’t need to do anything! Workday will be live in April when Autumn registration opens. Until then, register for Spring and Summer classes using CougarWeb. Workday training will be available for students when we get closer to launch day. Check back here to learn more.

Offices closed for Workday Training

As part of the process to prepare for a transition to Workday Student, several student-facing offices will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Friday of each month during Autumn and Spring semesters. See Schedule

Rollout Timeline

Different functions will move to Workday as we progress through the upgrade. Here's a high-level timeline of when you'll make the switch.

January 2026

  • Use CougarWeb for: Spring and Summer course registration, viewing grades, ordering transcripts, and financial aid status for current terms.

April 2026

  • Use CougarWeb for: Anything related to Spring or Summer 2026 courses, including registration, adds, drops, bill payments, course grades, and transcripts.
  • Use Workday for: Autumn 2026 and future term registration activities (planning, searching, dropping/adding, updating personal info and reviewing your financial aid offer).  
  • Autumn registration opens in Workday on April 20. 

July 2026

  • Continue to use CougarWeb for: Summer 2026 processes, clearing up any final Summer 2026 financial balances.
  • Begin to use Workday for: Autumn 2026 registration adds and drops, tuition viewing, billing, and payment plan setup. 

August 2026

  • Starting August 16, you will use Workday for: 100% of all student functions.
