General Information
- A Transient student is currently enrolled at another college and wants to take one or more courses at Columbus State to transfer to their home institution.
- A Guest student is not enrolled at another college but wants to take one or more courses to apply towards a graduate program, professional development, or personal interest.
Please refer to the Step-by-Step Instructions & Registration Form for Transient/Guest students.
A Transient/Guest Registration Form is only required if a course has a prerequisite that is not on your Columbus State record. You can find prerequisites listed in the course descriptions in the course catalog. You may also attempt to register via your CougarWeb account. If you are successful, the prerequisite is on your record, otherwise submit the form with the appropriate documentation.
If you would like to transfer from another institution to Columbus State, please follow the steps outlined on our website. If you are a first-time college student and interested in earning a degree at Columbus State, please see our Get Started Guide.
Registering for Classes
Once you receive your approval, you can register for classes through CougarWeb. Information on how to Register for Classes is available on our website.
You can view course descriptions in the course catalog.
To get a better understanding of Columbus State course modalities and how to recognize them, please refer to the pdf: Guide to In-Person, Web, and Blended Courses listed on the Course Descriptions & Schedule webpage.
Students can register if the class has not met and if seats are still available. You can email transient@cscc.edu with the course(s) you are requesting and a copy of all necessary transcript(s), Degree Audits, or your Advising Report for review.
