Are you a new student or a continuing student?

I'm a new student.

New students are students who have recently applied to Columbus State but have not taken classes yet.

If you applied for Autumn semester, check the email you used to apply for your acceptance email and instructions on how to log in to Workday. You’ll need to complete several tasks before registering for your classes.

Don’t see your acceptance email? A couple factors may be impacting your acceptance, but it’s nothing to worry about! Reach out to our Admissions team for help

Placement is how we determine which classes are the best fit for your skill level and we need this register for classes.

Accepted placement includes:

  • High school transcripts from the last ten years.
  • Standardized tests scores from the last two years.
  • Placement assesment test.

Pro tip: Don’t stress about placement testing. You won’t be graded; it only helps Columbus State get you in the right classes. You can sign up for placement testing here.

In Workday you’ll need to log in and complete several tasks, including attending a digital orientation and a course scheduling workshop. Your course scheduling workshop is where you’ll register for classes. But you can’t get there without completing your steps!

Need help figuring out what to do in Workday? Attend a Ready, Set, CState event. Register now: cscc.edu/ready

New students should take a Course Registration Event where you will learn how to register for classes and leave with your first semester schedule. When you get your placement submitted in Workday, you’ll be able to sign up for your Course Registration Workshop

Extended hours by department TBD.

I'm a continuing student.

Continuing students are current Columbus State students or students who recently attended and are planning to continue their education with us.

We’ve switched our student system to Workday! You’ll do a lot in Workday, including registering for classes. To learn more about logging in and getting registered go to cscc.edu/workdayinfo

We have step-by-step instructions on how to register in Workday. The biggest change from CougarWeb is that you have a few tasks to complete before you’re able to register for classes.

Log in to Workday and complete the following tasks:

  • Acknowledge the financial agreement.
  • Review your information.
  • Confirm your plans.
  • Register for classes.

Getting stuck? Call or visit Student Central for guidance.

Get course recommendations, build your schedule, and register for classes in Workday at a Course Registration Workshop. You can sign up in Cougar Connect.

You can find your advisor in Workday by navigating to the Academics Hub and finding your Important Contacts on that page. During peak registration, appointments with advisors go quickly! If you’re having trouble booking appointments, visit our drop-in hours for quick questions. cscc.edu/advising
