Your Orientation or New Student Workshop is an opportunity to get a great start to your college career. You'll learn about Columbus State, find out what to expect, and learn how to succeed as a college student. Most importantly, this is where you'll choose and register for your first classes.
Recent High School Grads
If you graduated in 2023 or 2024, you can sign up for your Orientation experience by visiting the Orientation Site.
Adult Learners
If you graduated high school in 2022 or before, you will take part in New Student Workshop. This two-part program includes 1) An online, self-paced program where you'll learn about Columbus State and 2) A live course registration workshop.

English as a Second Language
The ESL Next Steps Workshop is designed for students who completed the ESL placement test and placed into ESL 0188, 0189, or 0190 on their ESL placement assessment. At the workshop, students will meet an ESL professor, register for classes, and work with a member of the financial aid team to file their FAFSA, all in one event. - Graduating College Credit Plus students: If you already earned credits through College Credit Plus and would like to continue taking classes at Columbus State, please visit Transitioning from College Credit Plus
