New Office of Accreditation announced

Student News | Monday, September 16, 2024

Columbus State has established the Office of Accreditation (OA). It is within the Office of Strategic Initiatives and Assessment. This new office is dedicated to supporting the college’s mission and the purpose of accreditation: continuous improvement, excellence in education, and adherence to national, state, and professional standards.

The Office of Accreditation will coordinate efforts to meet the rigorous standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), including federal compliance criteria and build an infrastructure to support, integrate, and document compliance with standards set by the Ohio Department of Higher Education, and various professional accrediting bodies. By building the accreditation infrastructure, we aim to enhance our institutional effectiveness and ensure compliance with federal regulations, thereby maintaining the highest levels of educational quality and integrity.

During Autumn Semester, the Office of Accreditation will undertake several key initiatives:

  • Formation of the Accreditation Steering Committee and Subcommittees
  • Self-Study Process
  • Training and Information Sessions
  • Student Engagement
  •  Regular Updates and Communication

How to get involved
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to actively engage in accreditation processes. Your input and experience are critical to our success. If you have questions or want to learn more about how you can contribute, contact Teddi Lewis-Hotopp, OA director, at tlewisho@cscc.edu; Darla Van Horn, OA program manager, at dvanhorn@cscc.edu; or Shannon Strine, OA faculty fellow, at sstrine1@cscc.edu. Monitor the OA webpage, which will be updated regularly.
