The Humanities Symposium Series “When East Meets West: K-Pop and American Popular Music” is quickly approaching. Presentations include K-pop Fandom and Black Women: A Complicated History; American Forces, Korean Network: Pop Music in Korea under U.S. Influence; and This Is How We Support K-pop Stars: From gift-giving to political activism. The symposium will be held on Friday, September 30 from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m. in the Center for Workforce Development (WD). You may register at this link. The symposium will feature three presentations by scholars of Korean popular culture followed by a question-and-answer session which will be moderated by Merose Hwang, associate professor of History at Hiram College. Each of the presenters is from The Ohio State University:
