Types of Financial Aid
The Financial Aid department processes the following funds:
Community Support
Students who qualify for Federal Student Aid may also qualify for community supports
such as food assistance, child care assistance, health coverage, and more. Franklin
County Department of Job & Family Services (FCDJFS) is on-site at Columbus State Community
College (Columbus Campus) to assist students, staff and faculty in learning more about
and accessing public assistance benefits and support services by completing the application/redetermination
process on-site, providing direct referrals to the appropriate work units at JFS,
completing updates and case changes, answering questions and concerns and making community

Additionally, Columbus State’s Peer Advocates in Student Advocacy help students address barriers in and out of the classroom by educating them about
