Learn Digital Marketing Fundamentals
Columbus State is partnering with Facebook to offer a non-credit digital marketing program for those looking to promote their business, launch a career in marketing, or advance within their current organization.
Corporate investment in social media marketing is expected to rise by 73 percent over the next five years, and social media marketing is seen as a tool to accomplish key strategic objectives. Understandably, the demand for professionals with digital marketing skills is growing.
Columbus State Community College is partnering with Facebook to offer a new, noncredit Digital Marketing course series to meet the fast-growing digital marketing needs of employers and job seekers. The courses offer practical training in the latest marketing concepts and techniques used by businesses and organizations to obtain new customers, generate customer loyalty, and drive profit. As part of the program kickoff, Facebook will provide partial scholarships for the first cohort.
What You’ll Learn
Participants will develop capability with foundational digital marketing skills and tools, such as Facebook Ad Manager, Microsoft Excel, and Google Analytics. The course series includes the following courses:
- Foundations and Strategy of Marketing
- Marketing Content Strategy and Branding
- Marketing Analytics and Performance Optimization
- Social Media Marketing
Courses focus on project-based learning, and throughout the coursework students will design, launch and manage a Facebook ad campaign for a chosen business, using key metrics to optimize the campaign.
Who Should Attend
Courses are designed for individuals who are interested in exploring an entry level marketing career, advancing within their current marketing organizations, or building skills to promote their own business or venture. Proficiency in basic composition and communication skills are recommended. No prior knowledge in marketing necessary. Regular access to a computer with internet access is required to complete coursework. A laptop or other internet-connected device is recommended for class each week to improve the learning experience.
The non-credit course series will run in a single semester on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m., beginning August 20 and completing on December 10. The price for the course series is $1,400, but Facebook will cover $1,000 of the cost for all students in the first cohort only.
