Curriculum Development
One of the key deliverables of the Reach for the Cloud (CLOUD) project is the creation
of curriculum in cloud computing including foundational courses leading to the Cloud
Fundamentals Certification, stackable towards an AAS degree with cloud specialization.
The Software Developer AAS degree at Columbus State has been redesigned to include
a cloud computing specialization. The updated curriculum includes extensive cloud
content embedded into several courses within the program in addition to the requirement
of a semester in advanced programming focusing on either Java or C#.
Several non-computer science courses have been removed from the program of study,
and replaced with more applicable courses including ITST 1101- Industrial Applications
and Software, COMM 2204- Technical Writing, ITST 1136- Linux Essentials, and ITST
2258- Application Security.
