While a damp misty morning kept skies gloomy over Central Ohio Saturday morning, dozens of runners and walkers turned out in person for the annual Cougar 5K Challenge on the Delaware Campus. A total of 332 people registered for the event, a record! Due to the pandemic, it was the first in-person 5K since 2019.

Preliminary figures show more than $8,500 has been donated – that’s well above the original goal of $7,500. Donations are still being accepted, and “virtual” runners may still register, run a 5K, and turn in time until Saturday, May 14. Register for a virtual run or donate at this link. Proceeds provide funding for book scholarships for students.
