What is an internship?
An internship is a mentored work experience with an educational focus related to a
student’s major. Internships are completed with credit and are required for many degrees. Internships
give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections
in the professional field they are considering for career paths. The internships also
give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent. The Columbus State program
includes internships that are paid hourly, paid a stipend, or unpaid.
