Volume VII: In My Own Words 2017/2018
Volume VI is a special issue of Et al. that showcases narratives written for the In
My Own Words program at Columbus State Community College during the 2017 - 2018 academic
year.
In My Own Words provides a forum for sharing and celebrating the writing of first-year
students. A central goal of the program is to nurture a fellowship of writers and
a culture of excitement about the possibilities of the written word that will spill
over into classes beyond our first-year writing courses. The narratives included here
were selected by course instructors or students for their excellence. We hope you
enjoy the writing!
