Theatre Columbus State will perform “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams. After losing her family estate, Blanche DuBois moves into the cramped New Orleans apartment of her sister, Stella, and Stella’s husband, Stanley Kowalski. Blanche struggles to preserve her fragile identity while clashing with Stanley’s blunt, domineering realism. As long-buried secrets surface and tensions rise, the household is drawn into a psychological battle that ultimately fractures Blanche’s hold on reality.
The play, directed by Sonda Staley, will be performed at the Nestor Hall Center for Performing Arts, 488 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, through Saturday, April 25, with a 2 p.m. performance on Thursday, April 23. Admission is free.
