Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine today appointed Jean M. Halpin, president of OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, to the Columbus State Community College Board of Trustees.
“We are grateful to Jean for sharing her time and expertise with Columbus State. Her
expertise in the healthcare field is timely and of strategic importance. Her insights
will be invaluable as we address the workforce and educational needs of our students,
our community and our state,” said President David Harrison. “We thank Gov. DeWine
for continuing to appoint extraordinary leaders to our Board of Trustees.”
Halpin was named president of Grant in December 2024, the latest step in a 33-year career with OhioHealth that started in a role as an occupational therapist. In her current role, she provides strategic and operational senior leadership of OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, OhioHealth Bone and Joint Center at Grant, other outpatient clinics and Emergency Medical Services across the OhioHealth System.
She championed the ongoing transformation of the Grant campus in downtown Columbus, known as the Grant 2028 Impact: Access to Care for All project. Other career highlights include the development of OhioHealth’s outpatient division and serving as President of OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital during the hospital’s integration into the OhioHealth system in 2014.
Halpin earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from The Ohio State University and her master of health science from the University of Indianapolis.
