A member of the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) at Columbus State is being recognized for exemplary work. Kevin Hammond, SBDC certified business advisor, received multiple awards at the annual Ohio SBDC Statewide Conference on November 16 and 17 in Dublin. He was presented with awards for Loan Volume, Business Start-Up, and a special Spirit Award during the event.
"I was very grateful for the awards,” said Hammond. “The Spirit Award is representative of our entire SBDC Team at Columbus State. Our entire Team is hyper-focused on guiding small businesses through the hurdles of starting and growing their companies. We bring that Spirit of nurturing entrepreneurship with us daily. For us, it’s a way of life.”
The Loan Volume Award is for the top advisor in the Ohio SBDC Network obtaining the most loans for small businesses in 2022. The Business Start-Up Award is for the leading advisor in the Ohio SBDC Network to help entrepreneurs start the most businesses in 2022. And the Spirit Award is a special recognition chosen by Jim Laipply, SBDC state director.
Hammond earned the Spirit Award for his dedication to clients, colleagues, and network programming he produced during the pandemic titled “Progress, Not Panic 2020: New Video Series.” The videos were created to keep small business owners focused on what they could control and steps to take to continue making progress despite Covid limitations.
