Summer Camps and Pre-College Workshops
Columbus State hosts a variety of fun, educational summer programs for middle and high school students, as well as entering college Freshmen. With topics ranging from cybersecurity to health care and other STEM fields, our summer camps give students an opportunity to engage in immersive activities and explore exciting career paths.
Programs will be held virtually or on the Columbus Campus, depending on the status of the COVID-19 crisis and CDC recommendations at the time of camp.

Design Thinking: Additive Manufacturing Summer Institute
June 7-25, 2021
Join us for a 3-D printing summer experience at Columbus State! Additive manufacturing is a process of making three-dimensional objects from a digital model. It uses additive processes that print successive layers of material to create different shapes. In this three-week camp, students get hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and explore manufacturing careers.
Eligibility: This camp is for rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students, as well as rising college freshmen, interested in STEM careers. Students who applied for this camp in 2020 will be prioritized for the 2021 program, but they will still need to submit a 2021 application.

Health Science Summer Camp

This three-week program is for rising high school seniors. Health Science Summer Camp invites students to explore various careers in the health field. Students will also learn about pathways to a college education at Columbus State and partner four-year institutions and professional schools.
Eligibility: To enroll, students must be entering their high school senior year.

Health Science Summer Bridge Program

This two-week virtual program is for incoming Columbus State freshman majoring in health. Remote-learning experiences will help students sharpen study skills, strengthen academics, and develop techniques to give them an advantage in their college coursework.
Eligibility: Incoming Columbus State freshman pursuing a health major are eligible to apply.

Logistics Engineering Technology Early College Experience
June 2021
Explore cutting-edge careers in logistics! This camp focuses on Logistics Engineering Technology – a multi-disciplinary program combining logistics, engineering, and IT. Robotics, data analytics, and other new technologies are revolutionizing supply-chain operations. Logistics professionals harness new technology to help businesses maximize the efficiency and productivity of their systems and supply chains.
Eligibility: This camp is for rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students, as well as rising college freshmen, interested in STEM careers. Students who applied for this camp in 2020 will be prioritized for the 2021 program, but they will still need to submit a 2021 application.

GenCyber
July 26-30, 2021
Explore hacking, coding, cybers threats, and more! GenCyber invites high school students to learn about the growing field of cybersecurity with fun activities. Previous experience is not required!
Eligibility: This camp is for rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students, as well as rising college freshmen, interested in STEM careers. Preference will be given to students who have not previously attended a cybersecurity summer program at Columbus State. Half of all camp seats are reserved for students who identify as women.

STEM Summer Bridge Program

Get a head start in the STEM fields. Our STEM Summer Bridge Program is a tuition-free program designed to prepare Associate of Science majors for academic success at Columbus State.
Eligibility: Be accepted to Columbus State as a freshman entering a science-related major in Autumn 2021 and be able to attend all sessions over the one-week period. Students with ACT scores of 22 or above in Math and 19 or above in English will be given priority acceptance into the program.

We Are STEM is an exciting opportunity for students to learn about high-growth STEM careers in Central Ohio, as well as college pathways through Columbus State’s many degrees and programs.
