Election Mental Health Tips

Here are some tips you can start doing right away to improve your mental health around the election.

·         Stay informed with accredited information and take a break from information as you need to.

·         Connect with supportive family and friends.

·         Look for productive ways to communicate with others when there are disagreements by practicing good listening skills and being empathic toward someone else’s point of view.  

·         Set boundaries with others concerning your time and energy.

·         Practice relaxation breathing, guided imagery, and exercise where you can.  

·         Consider downloading an app on mindfulness skills such as Calm or Headspace.

·         Engage in relaxing activities such as taking a walk, watching a favorite television show, or another healthy pursuit that is not election based and offers a healthy distraction within your interests.”
