Shared Stories will highlight experiences of DACA students

Student News | Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Join us on Wednesday, April 18, for the Shared Stories event and exhibit. Columbus State Community College enrolls the largest student population of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients in Ohio. At Columbus State, we work hard to educate our campus community and external communities about the many contributions our Dreamers make to the College and to our state.

These advocacy efforts sparked the creation of Columbus State’s first Shared Stories exhibit. The exhibit will be available in the Library Multimedia Studio (CO 111) from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18. The related event will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. During the event, we will highlight the stories of our students who are DACA recipients or undocumented immigrants. The empowerment and reclamation of their voices will be experienced through writing, art, and video. This event is open to the entire Columbus State community.
