Welcome to the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Columbus State Community
College. The goals of this department include helping you:
- Fulfill college requirements
- Strengthen professional development
- Enhance personal growth
The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department provides course work that fulfills the
freshman and sophomore requirements for a bachelor's degree, enabling students to
transfer credit to four-year colleges and universities.
These courses also fulfill the general education and basic study requirements for
many Columbus State technical degree programs. Students enrolled in technical programs
benefit from these courses because they learn to understand human behavior and develop
strong interpersonal skills that are valuable in the working world.
The social and behavioral sciences help you to understand yourself and how you relate
to others in both your personal and professional lives. These courses help you gain
an understanding of the political, economic, geographic, cultural, and social factors
that influence everyday life.
