Social Work & Human Services
This five semester program prepares students to work in the human services professions including social work, mental health, addictions and developmental disabilities. The curriculum provides students with classroom instruction and practical skills necessary to become effective helpers. The program stresses important knowledge, skills and characteristics graduates need to be effective helpers in this profession. Students participate in practicum experiences in a variety of human services settings.
IMPORTANT DATES & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Information sessions are held each semester; to include at least one during the day and one in the evening. This session is mandatory for students to attend prior to or when attending the first SAHS Introductory course.
Information Sessions for Autumn Semester, 2020
Information sessions will be held virtually using WebEx. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Please include in the email:
1. Your name
2. Your cougar ID (if you have one)
3. The date of the information session you wish to attend (dates are below)
Students will need to use a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone to access the presentation as it has both visual and audio components.
Prior to attending the information session, please thoroughly review the attached SAHS Professional Expectations document.
Lastly, students may also seek advising through Health & Human Services Advising department. Students can access HHS advising through the link below.

$2,000 Scholarships for Certificates
Scholarships are available for students entering select certificate programs, including the Addiction Studies Certificate.
Scholarships are open to students who haven’t started coursework or paid fees yet.
