As Columbus State gears up for the first year of the Columbus Promise, faculty and staff members spent a full week in June with some of the students who will be participating. Nineteen Columbus Promise scholars started their college experience by participating in LEAP Week – Learners Engaged in Academic Preparation.

The free, week-long summer bridge experience offered students the opportunity to meet faculty, connect with services and resources, learn about academic and career paths, and prepare for college classroom expectations. Columbus Promise Scholars taking part in LEAP Week were 2022 graduates of Columbus City Schools who wanted to improve their placement in at least one discipline.

All summer, New Student Orientation and the Columbus Promise Team will host about 450 Columbus Promise Scholars on campus.
