The 8th annual Cougar 5K Challenge is history. It was held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, on the Columbus State Delaware Campus.
The event began in 2012 as a way to generate book scholarship money for students. One hundred percent of proceeds fund those scholarships. The totals this year are impressive: $8,500 from race registrations and $4,654 from individual donations. That’s a grand total of $13,154!
Collectively, over the eight years, the Cougar 5K Challenge has generated more than $35,000 for this meaningful cause.
The winner was Keith Kuisick of Columbus, who finished with a time of 19:58.3. The top female runner was Courtney Pugno of Delaware with a time of 24:28.9.
