Campus News | Monday, July 1, 2019

Andrea Denning has been named the new executive director of the Columbus State Foundation, the non-profit fundraising and development arm of Columbus State Community College. The foundation is responsible for planning, acquiring, and distributing charitable gifts to support the College’s strategic goals and priorities, including scholarships to students. Denning supersedes Pam Bishop, who continues to serve as an advisor to the Foundation.

Denning joins the College after working more than five years at the Ohio Department of Education’s Office of Integrated Student Supports. As the director for the program, she led a team of 70 and managed a budget of more than $800 million with programs that directly affect Ohio’s vunerable youth, including: alcohol and drug prevention, anti-harassment and anti-bullying in schools, child nutrition, English learners, positive behavioral supports, school safety, social emotional learning, school-based health-care and student homelessness.

President David Harrison said, “Andrea Denning has the energy and experience we need to build community partnerships and generate resources to advance the success of our students. She will be a great addition to our leadership team, with exciting opportunities ahead for our Foundation.”

Prior to the Department of Education, Andrea worked in executive fundraising positions for LifeCare Alliance and Prevent Blindness of Ohio. She has an extensive history in managing statewide fundraising and volunteer development.

Denning received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science from The Ohio State University.
