Eastmoor Academy is the latest Columbus City high school to be named a Credits Count school.
Leaders from Columbus State, American Electric Power and Columbus City Schools informed Eastmoor students on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Through a $5 million, five-year grant from the American Electric Power Foundation, the program launches STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) dual enrollment pathways with Columbus State. The Credits Count program will expand Eastmoor’s Project Lead the Way biomedical science program. Credit Count website
Other Credits Count schools include West, Whetstone and Northland high schools. West and Northland have engineering pathways while Whetstone is focused on computer science.
To date, students in Credits Count schools have saved more than $500,000 in college tuition through credit earned through Columbus State.
