During the week of June 11, the department of Engineering & Transportation Technologies hosted the annual Advanced Automation Institute for 30 students that are interested in entering the College’s Modern Manufacturing Work Study program.

Students spent the week participating in hands-on engineering activities in the Integrated Systems Technology Lab and the Machine Shop.

The weeklong program included a guest speaker from Amazon Web Services and site visits to four industry partners: AutoTool, PK Controls, Honda Logistics of North America, and the Honda Marysville Automotive Plant. The Advanced Automation Institute is funded through a National Science Foundation ATE grant.

Those interested in learning more about the Modern Manufacturing Work Study, or the Advanced Automation Institute are encouraged to contact Traci Beddow.
