Weiler Scholars Program
The Weiler Scholars Program provides a unique combination of scholarship, holistic student support, and transfer success planning to remove barriers to education and help our students succeed. With the support of the program, and other aid resources such as the federal Pell Grant, Weiler Scholars can earn their associate degree at Columbus State debt free!
This program is for recent high school graduates who desire to earn an associate degree from Columbus State, then transfer on to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Program Benefits
- Scholarship funding to help cover tuition and general fees not paid by the Federal Pell Grant or other eligible financial aid.
- Scholarship funding available for up to four semesters (Autumn and Spring terms only), with award amounts based on financial aid eligibility.

- Transfer-focused activities and events that help students prepare for the next step in their academic journey.
- The opportunity to earn a debt-free associate degree at Columbus State Community College.
- The opportunity to participate in the Dr. James L. Moore III Scholars Program upon transferring to The Ohio State University, for students who choose to continue their education at OSU and meet program eligibility requirements.
- Eligibility to apply for an additional Weiler Scholars Transfer Scholarship to support a bachelor's degree, with awards based on eligibility and available funding.
Weiler Scholars Program
Application Steps
To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Be a 2025/2026-year high school graduate from any Central Ohio school district (Including Franklin, Delaware, Madison, Union counties).
- Have a minimum final high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.75+ or higher
- Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Must be enrolled Full time (AA/AS) program at Columbus State with the intent to graduate from CSCC, then immediately transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree.
- Complete the free Columbus State Admissions application at cscc.edu/apply
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov
- Submit the Weiler Scholars Program Application
- Email your most recent high school transcript to weilerscholars@cscc.edu
- Request that your official final transcript be sent to Columbus State
- Virtual Interview
- Students that are accepted into the program will receive their notice of acceptance by August 1 of the current year.
As a Weiler Scholar, students commit to the following to participate in the program and maintain eligibility for scholarship renewal:
- Maintain full-time enrollment in an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree program at Columbus State Community College
- Graduate with an associate degree within five semesters (summer enrollment may be required to meet graduation timeline)
- Meet with a Program Coordinator at least once per month
- Meet with Academic Advising at least once each semester
- Meet with Career Services at least once each semester
- Participate in required program activities, workshops, and events designed to support transfer success
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
- Maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA or higher
- Remain in good standing with Columbus State Community College
- Enroll in a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year college or university immediately following graduation from Columbus State
