Weiler Scholars Program

The Weiler Scholars Program provides a unique combination of scholarship, holistic student support, and transfer success planning to remove barriers to education and help our students succeed. With the support of the program, and other aid resources such as the federal Pell Grant, Weiler Scholars can earn their associate degree at Columbus State debt free!

This program is for recent high school graduates who desire to earn an associate degree from Columbus State, then transfer on to earn a bachelor’s degree.

The Weiler Scholars program application is now open and will close July 1st, 2026
We encourage all applicants to apply early, as we review applicatoins on a rolling basis.

Program Benefits

  • Program provides scholarship funding to offset the student’s tuition and general fees not covered by the Federal Pell Grant or other aid resources
  • Scholarship funding available to cover tuition and fees for up to four semesters (Autumn and Spring terms only), with award amounts varying based on financial aid eligibility.

  • Holistic support provided by a dedicated program coordinator

  • Activities and events that enhance classroom learning
  • Opporuntiy to earn A debt-free associate degree at CSCC
  • Additional Weiler Scholars Transfer Scholarship; application required, with awards based on eligibility and available funding

 

Weiler Scholars Program

Application Steps

To be eligible for the program, students must:

  • Be a 2025/2026-year high school graduate from any Central Ohio school district (Including Franklin, Delaware, Madison, Union counties).
  • Have a minimum final high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.75+ or higher
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Must be enrolled Full time (AA/AS) program at Columbus State with the intent to graduate from CSCC, then immediately transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor's degree.

  1. Complete the free Columbus State Admissions application at cscc.edu/apply
  2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov
  3. Submit the Weiler Scholars Program Application
  4. Email your most recent high school transcript to weilerscholars@cscc.edu
  5. Request that your official final transcript be sent to Columbus State
  6. Virtual Interview
  7. Students that are accepted into the program will receive their notice of acceptance by August 1 of the current year.

To be successful in the program and meet renewal criteria, students must:

  • Maintain full-time enrollment in an associate of degree (AA/AS) program at Columbus State and graduate in within 5 semesters (summer semester enrollment may be required to meet graduation deadline)
  • Meet with an academic advisor once a semester
  • Meet with a career counselor at least once a semester
  • Meet with the program coordinator at least once per month
  • Meet satisfactory academic progress (SAP)
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Maintain good standing with the College
  • Enroll in a bachelor’s degree program at a four-year college or university immediately following graduation at Columbus State
