Residency
Ohio Student Residency for State Subsidy and Tuition Surcharge Purposes
As an institution receiving funding from the state of Ohio, Columbus State offers lower tuition to students who are Ohio residents. If you have been classified as an out-of-state student and you believe you qualify for in-state tuition, you may apply for residency reclassification. Applying for residency requires different documents, depending on your situation.

Required Documentation
A residency reclassification request cannot be granted unless all of the required documents have been provided by the processing deadline date. Until a complete online application with all of the required documents are submitted, by the processing deadline, a review cannot be completed. If a student fails to apply for residency reclassification prior to the start of the semester of enrollment, a new application and all required documents will need to be submitted for future semesters. Please note that students are expected to make full payment, (including non-resident fees), by the appropriate due date.
