Get back on track: The COMPASS program provides coaching and funding for Columbus residents who finished high school in the last few years and are looking for a career boost. Eligible individuals can choose between an academic path or career path.*

The program provides academic and career support to Columbus residents who completed their high school education between 2019 and 2024. Each participant in the academic path will have an academic and career coach who will assist them throughout their time at Columbus State. Additionally, program participants will receive funding to cover tuition and enrollment fees at Columbus State, making college a reality at no cost!

To be eligible, students must meet these requirements:

  1. Graduated from high school between 2019-2024.
  2. Currently live at an address within Columbus, Ohio (proof of residency is required).
  3. Not actively enrolled at Columbus State Community College (individuals transferring in from another institutuion are eligible as long as criteria 1 & 2 are met; returning CSCC students must have been inactive for one autumn and spring cycle for consideration).

COMPASS is a collaboration between I Know I Can, the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio, and Columbus State Community College.

COMPASS aims to:

  1. Re-engage high school completers who stopped out or never enrolled in postsecondary education or training.
  2. Encourage college persistence for individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  3. Improve college and career readiness and milestone completion while removing financial barriers to enrollment.
