Curriculum Change Process
Department chairpersons are the leaders of their content areas and responsible for providing the support and resources necessary for faculty to create coursework. Each academic department must review their curricular offerings on a regular basis as outlined by the college’s policies and procedures. Course and program changes, along with new courses or programs are subjected to peer review within the department, division, Office of Academic Affairs Curriculum Subcommittee, and the college’s General Education committee (for Gen Ed Core courses only). After this process is completed, all courses are reviewed by the Office of Curriculum Management to ensure that all Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) guidelines have been met. The college’s Senior VP of Academic Affairs reviews and provides final approval for all curriculum.
All changes to the approved curriculum must be submitted, reviewed and approved via CurriQunet, an online database of the Columbus State curriculum. This database provides the content to create the College Catalog, CSCC website, and additional marketing materials specific to the courses and programs of the college. Support materials for the CurriQunet system can be found under the subtopic CurriQunet. If you need access to and or assistance with the software, please contact Laurie Johns.
