College Credit Plus Placement Assessments
CCP students may take placement assessments to determine eligibility or meet course
prerequisites. Review Getting Started with the College Credit Plus Program for all eligibility options. CCP students using placement assessments to qualify
must earn a college-ready score in at least one of the following:
- Accuplacer WritePlacer: 5+
- Accuplacer Next-Generation Reading: 250+
- ALEKS Math: 46+
Additional Guidelines:
- The math assessment is optional for CCP students. It is required only if the student wants to take a course with a math prerequisite.
- All students must have both reading and writing placements on file (via our assessments
or another eligibility method) before taking a math assessment.
- Middle-school Students must take Accuplacer Reading and Writing and meet the college-ready score in at least
one area.
- English Language Learners (ELLs) — students who are not native English speakers and have fewer than 8 years
of U.S. schooling — must take Accuplacer Reading and Writing and meet the college-ready
score in at least one area.
- ELL students must have a WritePlacer score of 4 or higher to take the ALEKS assessment.
Those scoring below 4 must first complete the ESL Placement Assessment and place into
ESL 0190 or higher before becoming eligible for ALEKS.
- After high school graduation, ELL students with fewer than 8 years of U.S. schooling
will follow our ESL placement policy. The CCP exception (allowing them to take Accuplacer
instead of ESL placement) applies only when determining CCP eligibility.
