Career Success Plan
Graduating and finding the perfect job in your field is every college student’s end goal. While you’re preparing academically, you also need to build skills to find, apply for, interview and land the right job to launch your career.
Customized to Your Career Goal
Beginning Autumn Semester 2016, every Columbus State student will receive a personalized Career Success Plan. Your Career Success Plan takes you through a four-tiered process with progressive steps that provide a combination of exploration, career preparation and work-based activities.
Your Career Plan is customized based on factors such as:
- How many credit hours you have completed
- Your academic record or grade point average
- If you are an undecided student (no Program of Study declared)
What Program of Study you have chosen
|TIER||CREDIT HOURS COMPLETED||CAREER SUCCESS PLAN OUTCOMES|
|1||0-15||Defining and confirming career path, discovering occupational demand, identifying required skills|
|2||16-30||Documenting accomplishments, researching professions, identifying hiring companies, building professional network|
|3||31-45||Creating resume and cover letters, completing internship, developing mentors, researching transfer options, building experience through volunteer opportunities|
|4||46-60||Posting resume, mock interviewing, securing references, submitting applications|
