New registration process for students
Update | Tuesday, July 14, 2020
Columbus State has switched the platform for class registration. The previous “WebAdvisor” function has been replaced with “Self-Service.”
Key points of the changeover:
- Registration will still take place through CougarWeb. The change will be seamless for students. They click "Registration Self-Service (new)" under the Registration tab on CougarWeb. To avoid confusion, once WebAdvisor Registration is decommissioned, the "Add/Drop Classes (Old)" option will be removed from CougarWeb.
- The new process offers enhanced functionality and is more user friendly.
- Registration can now be accessed on cell phones and other mobile devices.
- It is already live. Students who have used it are giving positive feedback.
Classes saved in "Preferred Sections" of WebAdvisor cannot be automatically transferred into the new "Schedule Builder" in Self-Service. Therefore, students will need to either take action before July 20 or rebuild their schedule since the registration function in WebAdvisor will no longer be accessible. All students who need to move saved classes have received an email to assist them in doing so.
