Sustainability Student Group update
Student News | Tuesday, January 17, 2023
The organizers of the Sustainability Student Group have news to share. Since its founding in April, the group has become an official Climate Reality Project Campus Corp Chapter. It has grown to serve 88 members from a wide variety of majors. Over Autumn Semester, the group offered eight events, including a guided Metro Park experience and a presentation by Jeff Bates, professor of Design, Construction & Trades, about Forever Chemicals. The group also took four students to the MORPC Summit on Sustainability.
Students may now apply to a two-week cultural immersion experience in France centered around sustainability themes. Applications are due on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
For Spring Semester, the group will have recurring virtual meetings on the first Friday each month at 1 p.m. with guest speakers and activities. Several could be used as extra credit opportunities and provide useful information to the broader campus community. Everyone is welcome to join: students, faculty, and staff. If you would like more information, contact Jennifer McCord, Business Programs assistant professor, at jmccord6@cscc.edu. A link to all the events can be found at this link.
