New Counseling Services assistant director announced
Student News | Monday, February 13, 2023
Ezekiel Peebles has been named the new assistant director for the Department of Student
Wellbeing Counseling Services. Peebles says his goal at Columbus State is to “bring
a dynamic mix of wellness services to aid in the development of students as the future
generation of leaders.”
In addition, Peebles wants to highlight free services and resources for students. He says counseling services are available to be the listening ear you need, no matter the situation. Anxiety, depression, stress, and sudden changes in your mood are things every person must learn to manage. “Together, we can identify the solutions to help through in-person and Telehealth sessions,” says Peebles.
New Counselors are available now. The office has six new counselors ready to answer your call and provide quality mental health services. Visit the web page at cscc.edu/counseling, or contact the office to learn more about their areas of expertise. (The office is located in room 1076 in the Center for Workforce Development (WD) - the large building next to the Bookstore.)
Uwill is our virtual counseling service partner. Many students have been connected with Uwill since last year. You may continue with your Uwill counselor or take advantage of the on-campus services Student Wellbeing has to offer.
If you need to talk to someone after hours, during the late evenings, or on the weekends, we have Uhelp – our 24/7 Crisis Line through Uwill. No matter the situation or need, we are here to help you through tough times and improve your mental health. Contact Uhelp at (833) 646-1526.
Need a referral off-campus? We have you covered and can connect you with an agency or professional to continue your wellness journey.
Now, as the semester unfolds with assignments, quizzes, papers, and midterms, keep us in mind to be one more resource. Our office is located in the Center for Workforce Development (WD) in room 1076. We are one phone call away at 614-287-2818, or one email away from a response at counselingservices@cscc.edu. (If you call, a recording will give you several options to choose from.)
