Call for CougarCon Presenters

CougarCon 2023 is now accepting faculty, staff, and student presenter applications. Do you love comics and anime, and graphic novels? Or amazing art and video games, along with tabletop games and cool goodies dedicated to your favorite show, comic, hero, or character?

Have you always wanted to present at a ComicCon? If you can create together an engaging 45-to-60-minute presentation for general audiences, you should consider presenting at the upcoming CougarCon. Be as creative as you like. Can you tie in your academic discipline? Your passion for drawing? Your love of manga, graphic novels, anime, animated film, and video games? If so, send a proposal at the bottom of this link. The proposal submission deadline is Thursday, March 30.

CougarCon 2023, Columbus State’s first annual convention, is being planned by a collegewide collaborative team comprised of students, faculty, academic and operational departments, staff, and student clubs and organizations. The all-ages-focused event is dedicated to comics, anime, manga, games, and pop culture. It will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 19 and 20, in the Center for Workforce Development. 

It will include an Opening Ceremony and an anime movie showing on Friday night. All day Saturday, there will be panels dedicated to pop culture topics, cooking demos, a video game room where you can play and watch games, a tabletop gaming room, an anime showing room, a Super Smash Brothers Tournament, a Cosplay Contest, and an excellent Vendor and Artist Alley. Other surprises are in the works.
