Final Concert Band performance for Lloyd April 25

The Columbus State Concert Band’s Spring Concert will include the music of Cecile Chaminade, Cait Nishimura, Yukiko Nishimura, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and John Phillip Sousa.

Two guest oboe soloists will be featured in Brian Balmages "Gateways." 

A medley of four works by African American composer James Reese Europe will be presented in a new arrangement by Band Director Thomas Lloyd. This will be Lloyd’s final performance at Columbus State. He’s retiring after 24 years as the Concert Band director. He started at Columbus State in 1992. 

The free concert is open to the public and will be held  on Tuesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. on the 4th floor of the Center for Workforce Development, 315 Cleveleand Ave.
