Student News | Monday, June 26, 2023

In August, Ohio voters will decide Issue 1, a proposed amendment to Ohio’s Constitution. Issue 1 will ask voters to approve or deny a constitutional amendment that will change how Ohio’s Constitution is amended during future elections. If Issue 1 is adopted, it will require 60% approval by voters before a constitutional amendment can be adopted. Currently, it takes 50% plus one for voters to approve an amendment to Ohio’s Constitution. There are other technical provisions to Issue 1.
